Following the liberation of Iraqi territory from Daesh in December 2017, the task ahead is to stabilise and rebuild Iraq. Iraq’s elections on 12 May, and the coalition building that follows, will play a critical part in this process, as it is there that the Iraqi people will choose who they want to bring the country together.
Australia’s Ambassador to Iraq, Her Excellency Dr Joanne Loundes, will reflect on Australia’s contribution to the efforts to defeat Daesh and what we are doing to support a positive future for Iraq.
This event will accord with the Chatham House Rule
